Reach Out and Read Colorado gives young children a foundation for success by prescribing books as part of routine well child visits and supporting families to read aloud together. An independent entity affiliated with a national model, the organization struggled to define a distinct and cohesive brand that was both consistent with the national umbrella and compelling for a diverse state-wide audience.
We were brought in to help define their existing brand, identify opportunities for elevation, and produce a cohesive and comprehensive set of collateral to tell their story to different stakeholder groups.

We began our collaboration with a deep audit of the existing brand. With their collaboration we identified strengths and weaknesses of the visual identity, as well as inventoried existing assets.
After a deep exploration of the existing brand we led the organization through a definition process. Centered around their current logo we helped define elements of a visual identity that were both cohesive with a national presence and distinct for their local application.
Collaborating with stakeholders across the state, we traveled to film the organization’s impact in homes, clinics, and public spaces where reading was fostering healthy development. The film was complemented with a comprehensive overhaul of their print and digital content. From wall decals and sticker sets to annual reports and social content, we’re working to produce a cohesive brand presence that will inspire donor engagement and deepen their programmatic impact across the state.
Our work with Reach Out and Read CO has transpired overall three years of deep collaboration. Through film, photography, and design we support their team on a monthly basis to produce the creative content they need to engage a diverse audience of donors, health care providers, and parents.
